Structural drying for water and fire damage restoration projects

Drying Systems Australia provides structural drying services for the water and fire damage restoration industry. We act as a consultant for, and regularly sub contract to, restoration, building and construction companies when it comes to water and fire damage of commercial buildings. These large scale projects may result in extensive and complex issues with mitigating the damage caused by flood water, broken mains water supply pipelines, drainage pipework and guttering, air conditioning systems chilled and hot water pipework and fire sprinkler systems that may have been activated due to fire within the building or even flooding caused from the fire brigade during the extinguishing of large fires.
We specialise in cost effective solutions in design and application of temporary dehumidification and climate control systems for the purpose of water damage remediation which includes internal environment stabilisation and drying of building structures and related building materials. It is very important to recognise the fact that the longer the building is left without a drying system installed, the greater the risk of mould growth occurring which creates additional remediation works and restoration delays. Mould growth can occur in humid conditions within seventy two hours or less, so it is critical to stabilise the environment as soon as possible, until additional drying equipment can be installed on site to start the structural drying process.
We will attend site for inspection and detailed assessment of the drying and humidity control requirements to restore the building materials back to their pre-water damage state and moisture content condition. We can provide moisture content readings and thermal imaging of all affected areas of moisture ingress such as in concrete slabs which may include drilled core test points, timber flooring and associated affected building materials.
A report and scope of works will be provided to the building owners for submission to insurance companies outlining the most appropriate, time and cost effective course of action to be taken in the drying process, providing solutions to minimise business interruption or tenancy temporary re-locations. Drying Systems Australia can supply, install and monitor the necessary drying systems and equipment required for each project, including site power assessments for temporary power supply for the required drying equipment, and provide progress reports of the moisture readings taken during the drying process to assist in identifying the rate of drying progress and in turn, the approximate completion date to enable accurate planning for other associated remedial works, re-fit outs and other related building and construction works.
